There is a variety of product decisions that affect the look of your finished house. These include the choice of logs, corner types, cladding options and roof shapes, for example. Customise your dream home with your chosen products.
Logs are chosen based on the purpose of the building and personal preference. The chosen log also affects the overall architecture of a Honka house. Honka square logs can be used for any traditional or contemporary log home. If you want to create a contemporary design with urban, minimalistic details, then your choice is the non-settling Honka Fusion log.
Honka Square logs
Honka square logs are kiln-dried and multi-laminated, resulting in straight and true timbers. They are manufactured from two to eight lamellas using an adhesive that retains the wood’s natural ability to breathe. The bonding joints, undetectable to the naked eye, breathe by allowing water vapour to permeate right through them, meaning they do not form a compact plastic film inside the wood structure.

Non-settling Honka fusion logs
Our innovation, the non-settling Honka Fusion log, makes it possible to easily incorporate other materials and large glass elements into log wall structures. The solution is based on minimizing the effects of settling with vertical middle layers of laminated logs. The non-settling characteristic is achieved by using a vertical middle lamella and a Wood-On-Wood profile, tight bolting that eliminates installation clearances and a special drying process. The thin seam formed by the log profile creates a modern appearance both inside and outside of the house.

Corner types
Cross corners are characteristic to log houses, but many people feel they are a feature of rural landscapes. Our clearly defined, minimalistic Honka Zero Corner™ concept produces log houses that are at ease even in the most urban environments. With the layered wall structures the corner notches are only visible from the inside or the outside, depending on which side the insulation is installed on.

Log houses get their characteristic look from the material they are made of: natural wood. The entire interior does not have to be wooden though. Partition walls can be made of lightweight materials and covered with wallpaper, for example. The log walls can be stained and treated in many different ways.
